Final Exam: Project Revision Plan

My Revisions for Project 2:

How to Make a Better End Product

I believe the Ideas that worked best in my project were the linear design and single page style/format of the web essay, and the use of screen shots of the site in question when discussing pages and tool operations. I would keep these aspects, however, I would re-organize the text and visuals to better fit the page (i.e., I would make the text wrap around the visuals at the appropriate places in the text.) My design choice was adequate for what I was seeking to do, but it had more potential than I utilized. The linear design of the page works well, but the lack of content in regards to visuals hinders the work and creates potential for the audience to question its legitimacy. I can see how this lack can cause difficulty understanding what is being discussed in the essay, and that adding more visuals and captioning them with information on the content would help the reader. In addition to captioning these visuals of the tool in question, I would also place an in-text citation number following the information that was relevant to a specific image to further assist the reader.

Another issue I have found with this project is the lack of an aural and video aspect. To fix this I would create my own narrated walkthrough of using the web-tool and both reiterate and make additional comments about the interrogation of the interface. I would discuss all the points I mention in the essay as well as anything else that came to mind while creating the screen capture video commentary; I would place this at the end of the essay towards the bottom of the page. Overall, I believe that these few changes and the extra time taken to create these additions would greatly enhance the project and create a much more useful document for readers.
